




The club operates three rescue boats, two rigid and one RIB depending on how many boats are out. The RIB is ideally suited to higher speed operation in rougher weather. Secure covered winter storage is available at the club currently costing a rather insignificant sum.
The club is an RYA approved training center and runs introductory sailing courses, intermediate sailing, powerboat and rescue boat. Club members are expected to train for the latter two courses and share with rescue boat duties.

There are many craft using the river, some present a challenge to navigation, some require extreme respect, common sense is the name of the game on the Tay.



Newburgh Sailing Club is very much family orientated. BBQ’s and social events are held throughout the year. Kids fun days are always a big hit with the members. Its sometimes hard to tell the Cadets apart !.
Newburgh Sailing Club is situated in northern Fife on the south shores of the river
Tay, along the A913 between Perth to the West and Newport-
The Club enjoys stunning views up and down the river and across the valley over Mugdrum
Island in the centre of the river, which happens to be one of the largest reed beds
in Europe, and, home to much wildlife.
Sailing in the Brackish waters at Newburgh can prove to be both exhilarating and
challenging, both from difficult wind sheer created by the trees and rolling hillsides
behind the club, and wind blowing down the valley, not to mention a fairly misleading
tidal current. All adding to the attraction of sailing in these beautiful surroundings.
The Clubhouse itself boasts Ladies and Gents changing facilities, with hot showers,
fitted kitchen with hot and cold running water and full cooking facilities, a large
reception area that enjoys uninterrupted panoramic views across the Tay, and an OD’s
box above and to the centre of the clubhouse.

The Club has a fairly large fleet of Jack Holt design Solo’s which has been steadily expanding in size in recent years, The Oppie and GP14 fleets are on the move too. We have a hardcore element that enjoy racing on a regular basis as well as a good base of members who prefer to cruise and potter about the water for enjoyment, whatever your pleasure we are sure we can accommodate your preference.
