The 12th/13th August saw the completion of the Kerwhip Cup for 2023. Congratulations to Brian Cruickshank and Linda Harold in their Tasar for winning the overall weekend. Euan and Craig Mearns in a 420 were second and Isla and Scott Ferguson in their Laser Pico were third. A special note also to Grant Combe who had his first ever race win in the last race of the day. Also award for most dedicated sailors went to Niamh McAllion and Jude Ferguson who despite a capsize in very squally conditions managed to right the boat and finish. There is a video on the RYA website that was taken at the club to commemorate John’s award. The video is here so please check it out. Many well earned congratulations to John from all at NSC.

Cadet Week 2023

We ran our Cadet Training week from the end of July (31st) 2023. With around 30 cadets and 6 adult trainees, it was another very successful year with loads of fun and sailing to be had in some interesting conditions. Well done all!

Welcome to the Newburgh Sailing Club website

Newburgh Sailing Club is situated in northern Fife on the south shores of the river Tay, just off the A913 between Perth to the West and Newport-on-Tay to the east. The Club enjoys stunning views up and down the river and across the valley over Mugdrum Island which happens to be one of the largest reed beds in Europe and home to much wildlife.

Sailing in the brackish waters at Newburgh can prove to be both exhilarating and challenging, both from difficult wind sheer created by the trees and rolling hillsides behind the club, and wind blowing down the valley, not to mention a fairly misleading tidal current. All adding to the attraction of sailing in these beautiful surroundings.

We offer sailing opportunities for all ages and backgrounds. Within the website you will find information on our training courses, regular racing and other activities. If you want to get more information then look through our site or go to our contacts page  for more information.
